Maruti Suzuki Flash/Blaze Details
Speaking of this upcoming crossover is based on the new-gen Baleno hatchback. However, there are some changes that will make sure that it is placed differently in the market. The first thing, of course, is its name. It was speculated that Maruti might name Baleno Cross. However, our sources have reported that it will be either called Flash or Blaze. Funky names indeed & so is the tech used on it.
Online reports have been suggesting to us that Maruti will equip this car with the latest tech. These will include the likes of HUD, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, & even ventilated front seats. However, the main changes will be technical. Maruti has not only raised its suspension but as per online reports, it might offer an AWD as well. Although, it will be offered only as an option on the top-spec trims.
Speaking of the engine, Maruti will be using the 1.2-lt petrol engine unchanged from Baleno. It is being done to enjoy the tax benefits. Additionally, this engine is known for reliability as well as fuel economy. Meanwhile, the upcoming crossover will also be featuring choices of manual and automatic gearbox options. It does not have any direct rivals in India for now. However, products such as Tata Punch, Hyundai Venue, etc., will face competition through it.
Verdict
Maruti will be debuting two models at the Indian Auto Expo 2023. One is the much-awaited Jimny SUV while the second one is the Flash/Blaze. We expect that Maruti will price it somewhere between Rs 8-13 lakh price tag. But, we can not be sure about any details until the company reveals something.
