The highly anticipated launch of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is getting near and the SUV has already garnered over 24,500 bookings. Since its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo, the 5-door Jimny has gained significant popularity in India. While the exact launch date has not yet been announced, it is expected to take place in early June, and media drives have already been scheduled. The waiting period for the Jimny can vary from 6 to 8 months, depending on the selected variant. The new Jimny is currently on display at Maruti's premium NEXA outlets.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny Variant & Colour Options
The upcoming Jimny SUV will have two variants available - the Zeta and Alpha. The Alpha variant will be the top-of-the-line option with all the added features. The feature list of the Jimny will include LED headlamps, headlamp washer, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, six airbags, dark green glass, electronic ORVM, steering mounted controls, and an Arkamys sound system.
The 5-door Jimny will be available in 7 monotone and 2 dual-tone colour options. The monotone colour options include Nexa Blue, Bluish Black, Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, and Pearl Arctic White, while the dual-tone colour options are Kinetic Yellow and Sizzling Red with a Bluish Black roof.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Engine
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will come with a 1.5-liter K15B smart hybrid petrol engine that is known for its exceptional fuel efficiency. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed torque converter. The peak output of this engine is 105 bhp and 134.2 Nm of torque. The Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4x4 system is also included in the Jimny, which enhances its off-road capabilities. The system should provide better traction and stability on rough terrain.
Verdict: The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to have a starting price of approximately Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with the Mahindra Thar.
