The MG Astor is one of the most affordable SUVs in the segment and rivals the cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, etc. With prices starting from INR 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the MG Astor is available in four different trim options - Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp. The car is only available with two petrol engine options that include a 1.5-L naturally aspirate VTi-Tech petrol engine and a 1.35-L 220Turbo petrol engine. MG Astor Sharp Features - Exteriors
For starters, the MG Astor Sharp comes equipped with Full-LED Hawkeye headlamps with black highlights and LED Daytime running lights. The taillights too are all LED and look great. Upfront, the car also gets a bold celestial grille with a chrome finish. The rear spoiler along with the dual exhaust setup is a standard part of the package. The MG Astor comes equipped with a 10.1 inch HD Touchscreen Infotainment system with i-SMART connected car features. This system gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard while a six-speaker sound system is also offered along with this variant. Other features include Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, FM, and steering mounted controls. The MG Astor also gets a personal AI Assistant with a head-turner feature, ask anything, local and global news, interactive emojis, hinghlish voice command recognition and many other features.
In-built online navigation with live traffic and geofencing is also on offer. Other connected features like find my car, smart drive information, and vehicle status are also on offer. MG Astor Sharp Safety Features
The MG Astor comes loaded with safety features and equipment. To start with, the car gets six airbags, an electronic stability program, ABS, EBD, brake assist, traction control and active cornering brake control. In addition to this, the car also gets hill hold control, emergency stop signal, all 4 disc brakes, and an electric parking brake with auto hold. Other more advanced features like tyre pressure monitoring system, 360 around view camera, front cornering assist, security alarm and speed warning alert. Having said this, the MG Astor also comes with a speed sensing auto door lock, emergency fuel cutoff, ISOFIX mounts, seat belt reminders, etc. The body shell uses ultra-high tensile steel cage body and intrusion minimizing and collapsible steering column to help prevent any major injuries to the occupants in case of a serious crash.
Furthermore, the MG Astor is also the only car in the segment to offer an Autonomous Level 2 package. Buyers opting for this optional package will get adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, and lane-keep assist. In addition to this, this package also offers forward collision warning alerts, automatic emergency braking and automatic emergency braking - pedestrian. Other features like intelligent headlamp control, speed assist system and rear-drive assist are also offered. The MG Astor Sharp can be had with both engine options. The 1.5-L VTi-Tech naturally aspirated petrol engine churns out 110 PS and a peak torque output of 144 Nm. This engine can be had with either a 5-Speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The 1.35-L turbo petrol engine on the other hand produces 140 Ps and a peak torque output of 220 Nm. This engine is only available with a six-speed automatic gearbox. Both these engines offer decent performance while the refinement levels too are impressive. The driving dynamics too are great. A feature-loaded cabin, good looks and extremely aggressive pricing help the MG Astor have an edge over its main rivals like Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross, and Kia Seltos.
