MG Motor India recently launched the new 2021 MG ZS EV in the country. The ZS EV is a pure 100 per cent electric car and it was first launched in India in early 2020. Upon launch, it was the second product from MG in India after the Hector SUV. The ZS EV garnered good sales numbers for the company and now after just a year of its launch, the company has given it an update. The carmaker has recently launched the new 2021 MG ZS EV and it brings in some welcome changes. Also, the MG ZS EV is now available in a total of 31 cities. Now, if we talk about the general information of the 2021 MG ZS EV, so the new ZS EV gets some minor updates. The first one is a new updated powertrain option. The new ZS EV gets an updated powertrain which the company claims to deliver much more range than before. The 2020 MG ZS EV used to get a 44.5kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery that claimed to deliver a driving range of 340 kilometres on a single charge. The battery of the new 2021 ZS EV also has the same specs but it is new and MG calls it as the high-tech liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery. The company claims that the new 2021 MG ZS EV has an ARAI-rated driving range of 419 kilometres on a single charge, which is around 79 kilometres more than before.

Thus, one can expect a genuine real-world driving range of around 300-400 kilometres on a single charge. The new 2021 ZS EV is powered by an electric motor that churns out 143 PS of power and 353 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a single-speed automatic transmission. The ZS EV can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in just 50 minutes via the fast DC chargers. The new MG ZS EV gets new wider and better tyres. The old MY 2020 model used to get 215/50-R17 tyres, but the new MY 2021 model gets 215/55-R17 tyres. Also, the new MG ZS EV gets 177 mm ground clearance (older one had 161 mm), all thanks to the revised battery pack placement by the company.
The new 2021 MG ZS EV is available in two variants. They are Excite and Exclusive. The variant-wise Ex-showroom Delhi prices of the new 2021 MG ZS EV are mentioned in the table below:
