Maruti Swift Facelift: A Size Up From Older Swift
The upcoming 2024 Maruti Swift facelift was spotted testing at Dwarka Expressway where in one frame, both the test mule and the current-gen Swift shared space, and the size upgrades were visible clearly. Interestingly, the Swift facelift has already been showcased internationally and is soon expected to hit Indian shores as well. However, the Indian production is all set to begin this month.
The upcoming Swift features an updated front fascia, including a new grille, redesigned headlamps with DRLs, a sleek bumper, and polygonal fog lamps. For international models equipped with ADAS, a radar module is installed on the top section of the front grille. While the test mule is camouflaged, it remains uncertain if the same configuration will be offered in the India-spec model.
The side profile showcases standard rear door handles instead of C-pillar mounted units, accompanied by a new set of sporty alloy wheels. The rear of the new Swift boasts quirky C-shaped tail lamps.

Powertrain: New Z-Series Engine With Mild-Hybrid
The upcoming Swift is expected to achieve higher fuel efficiency with the new Z Series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine, coupled with a mild-hybrid setup that produces 83 PS of maximum power and 108 Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the existing K series dual jet, dual VVT petrol engine delivers 89.73 PS and 113 Nm. The current Swift offers 22.38 km/l with the manual transmission and 22.56 km/l with the AGS. The CNG manual variant achieves a mileage of 30.90 km/kg.
Expected Price, Launch, And Rivals
The upcoming New Swift is anticipated to experience a price hike due to the inclusion of an expanded equipment list. The current model is available for purchase with a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh. Although the exact timeline for the India launch remains unclear, it is anticipated that Maruti will introduce the new Swift by April 2024. It currently locks horns with the likes of Tata Tiago and Grand i10 NIOS.
