Maruti Suzuki Private Limited is one of the oldest and known car manufacturers in India. Since beginning to date, the manufacturer has always maintained its legacy and has introduced a wide range of models in the market. Back in 2019, Maruti announced the entry of its hot hatchback, Baleno in the market which is doing really well hitting the sales chart regularly. Recently, Maruti has been spotted several times testing the latest facelift version of the Baleno and before its launch, the images of the hatch has been leaked over the web. Design and Dimensions

Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a bold, reputed and demanding hatchback in the market. Being a small car, Baleno offers best-in-class space inside the cabin with a dual-tone interior, a new smart play touchscreen infotainment system compatible with every smartphone device. The current Baleno offers LED rear taillights, bold grille upfront with 3D graphic design, dual-tone alloy wheels, and LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs.

Baleno is a hot hatchback available with a bold design whereas the carmaker is also ready to introduce a facelift version of the Baleno very soon. The images of the hatchback have been leaked but no information has been revealed by the company so far but let's take a sneak peek of the changes it will have to its exterior.

Maruti has tweaked the design language and is expected to come in a revised version. The updated facelift version will come in a new avatar. That said, the carmakers have redesigned the front bumper with a bigger place for fog lamps and the front grille design has also been stretched to the headlamps unit giving it a stylish look. With an update in the front grille design, the headlamp units have been updated accordingly. Even the bonnet design has been tweaked according to the latest front-end design. 

The leaked images show that the upcoming Baleno might get cladding on the pillars with chrome inserts on the grille and on the door handles as well. The images only show the front and rear profile of the hatch whereas it is also possible that the facelift Baleno will also receive an updated alloy-wheel design. The taillights at the rear are also new and look a bit similar to WRV.

The car is expected to come with the same dimensions as that of the existing model.

The existing model of the Baleno is a package of features. First, let's take a look at the features inside the cabin which includes UV protected glasses, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power windows, keyless entry, central locking, automatic ac control, Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls, navigation system with live traffic updates. 

To make the car safer it comes equipped with ABS+EBD, dual airbags, automatic headlamps with top-end trims, auto-dimming IRVM, reverse parking camera and sensors and high-speed alerts. To the exteriors, the carmaker offers chrome door handles, turn indicators on the ORVMs, glove box illumination, precision cut alloy wheels.

The new upcoming Baleno is already receiving updates to its exterior as seen from the leaked images whereas it is also expected that the automotive giants will bring some updates in the interior as well. There is a possibility that the hatch might offer a dual-tone dashboard design with an all-new digital instrument cluster and an advanced connected infotainment system as well. Along with this, the car is also expected to come with a new alloy wheel design and ambient lighting. 

It is expected that the upcoming hatchback will get more or less features similar to the latest generation i-20 to have tougher competition in the market. 

Specifications

The existing Baleno in the market is available with Petrol and Petrol Smart Hybrid choices. Both choices offer a 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine and a 1.2-litre dual jet, dual VVT petrol smart hybrid engine. The normal petrol variant is capable of producing 61kW of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque whereas the petrol smart hybrid version is capable of delivering 66kW of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. 

The upcoming facelift Baleno will pack a revised version of the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine only which will get an advanced K Series dual jet dual VVT engine. The same engine has been used in the latest generation Swift and the new Baleno might receive few changes in the power and torque figures. If that doesn't happen the engine would be capable of producing 66kW of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. 

Price

The existing Baleno in the market asks for a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 9.45 lakhs (ex-showroom). The hatchback is priced at a competitive price tag and this might be one of the reasons that the hatchback is regularly hitting the sales chart till date. 

The upcoming facelift Baleno is expected to receive a hike in price by approximately Rs 50,000 in its base-variant and top-end is expected to ask for a premium of Rs 80,000 more than the existing one. No official details about the facelift version have been revealed whereas the prices might turn out to be different.
