Hyundai is currently working on introducing the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the Indian market as a part of its latest EV strategy. The Korean carmaker recently confirmed that it will be launching six new electric vehicles in India by 2028 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is expected to be the first one in the line-up. We recently spotted the new Ioniq 5, thus sparking rumours about the launch soon. Here are all the details about the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that we know so far.
While the test mule was under heavy camouflage, a number of styling highlights are clearly visible. For starters, the car gets many unique design features such as pop-out door handles, sleek LED lights, and clean body panels. The Ioniq 5 could be brought into the country as a CBU and positioned as the flagship electric vehicle before the arrival of a more volume-based EV.

The interior has minimalistic buttons, a moving centre console, and a twin-screen setup. With augmented reality tech and a heads-up display, the vehicle offers an impressive amount of equipment. Other features like wireless charging, automatic climate control, a large sunroof, etc are also on offer. The Ioniq also offers a flat floor, interior storage, and BlueLink connectivity. The new Ioniq 5 also comes with advanced driver assistance and safety tech.
In the global markets, the Ioniq is available with a single motor and a dual-motor setup that churns out 169 hp and 306 hp respectively. It is still unknown which of the powertrain options will Hyundai bring to India. Having said this, the new 77.4 kWh battery pack offers a range of around 500 km as against the 460 km offered by the 72.6 kWh battery pack earlier. The same iteration of this electric SUV is expected to be offered in the Indian market.
