Hyundai IONIQ 5 N
The new IONIQ 5 N merges the Electrified-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) of the standard model with N's motorsport-derived technologies. It takes advantage of N's expertise gained from electrified 'Rolling Labs' such as RM20e, RN22e, and N Vision 74 to optimize the high-performance capabilities of the electric vehicle. This integration ensures that the IONIQ 5 N aligns with N's three performance pillars: 'Corner Rascal,' 'Racetrack Capability,' and 'Everyday Sportscar.'
The brand has implemented alterations to the body of the IONIQ 5 in order to create the N breed electric vehicle. These changes include enhancements to the body-in-white (BIW) structure. This includes the addition of 42 extra welding points and an additional 2.1 meters of adhesives. Furthermore, the motor and battery mounting have been reinforced, and the front and rear subframes have been improved to enhance lateral rigidity. Additionally, the IONIQ 5 N is equipped with 21-inch forged aluminum wheels.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 N - Specific Changes
The EV gets N Drift Optimizer helps to maintain the drift angle by balancing multiple vehicle controls responding to real-time inputs. N Torque Distribution provides fully variable front and rear torque distribution that can be adjusted to 11 levels. The e-LSD (electronic limited slip differential) at the rear axle optimizes cornering performance and control. N Grin Boost maximizes acceleration by a power increment of 10 seconds and N Launch Control provides three different traction levels for the fastest possible start, allowing drivers to launch their vehicle like a professional race car. Track SOC (state-of-charge) automatically calculates battery consumption per lap.

With N Race, drivers are given the strategic choice to prioritize Endurance or Sprint. Endurance maximizes range on the racetrack. Sprint prioritizes power and provides shorter bursts of full energy. IONIQ 5 N boasts N-tuned brakes, which represent Hyundais most powerful braking system. It features 400-mm diameter front discs with four-piston monobloc calipers and 360-mm rear discs. In addition, the regenerative (regen) braking system typically used for enhanced efficiency has been reinterpreted in IONIQ 5 N to enhance braking performance.
