Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has joined hands with Tata Power, one of India's major integrated power providers and a leading provider of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, to build a comprehensive EV charging network and accelerate EV adoption in India at its dealerships. HMIL will become a key contributor to the expansion of high-quality charging infrastructure as a result of our collaboration. This EV charging push came ahead of the launch of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV in India, which is expected to happen before the end of the year.

Mr. Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, and Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, signed the MoU at HMIL's headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.
HMIL now has a network of 34 EV Dealers in 29 cities, all of which are equipped with AC 7.2 kW chargers, and it plans to expand the charging infrastructure network across its Dealerships in India. The DC 60 kW charger takes substantially less time to charge a vehicle than the AC 7.2 kW charger. Customers will appreciate the convenience of these DC 60 kW charging stations.
For consumer convenience and hassle-free EV ownership, public EV charging stations will be established at Hyundai dealership sites, and end-to-end charging solutions at home will be supplied. All electric vehicle customers will be able to use the charging stations at Hyundai dealerships, which will be available via the Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App.

HMIL will provide space and essential administrative approvals through its dealerships, while Tata Power will operate and maintain the charging stations. Customers will be able to browse, identify, and pay for charging stations through the Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App, as well as access live status and pre-book charging station slots for a hassle-free and smooth vehicle charging experience.
