It's been long that Volkswagen has been sharing details about the MQB AO Platform and delaying the process of bringing in cars with the updated architecture until now. Volkswagen showcased the Taigun compact SUV which is the first product under India 2.0 project.
Volkswagen Taigun will also be the first compact SUV to sit on the MQB AO IN platform. The SUV gets inspiration from the already popular T-cross and the design elements are altered for Indian markets. Dimension wise, the Taigun gets 100 mm longer wheelbase than T-Cross which will ease up the cabin and rear seating space. It also gets a 205 mm of ground clearance to catch up with the bad Indian roads.
At the front, the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun gets an agile look with tweaked headlights design along with chrome inserts at the grille. It also gets front skid plates which adds a level of sportiness to the SUV. At the rear, you get LED taillights and a LED lightbar which connects both the ends. The skid plates follow the rear portion too. It is expected to get 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Mechanically, the Taigun will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. It'll be capable of producing 130 bhp on tap. This unit clocks 0-100 km/h in a mere 9.9 seconds and gets a top speed of 183 km/h. A 7-speed DSG will be available when it's launched.
