The Honda Amaze 3rd generation has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh at an interesting time, as Maruti Suzuki also launched their much-awaited Dzire just a month ago. Planning to buy one of these popular sub-compact sedans? Here is an interesting piece on the Honda Amaze features that are not in the Dzire and vice versa. Features Honda Amaze Offers Over Maruti Dzire
ADAS Level 2
The all-new Honda Amaze has become India's most affordable car to offer ADAS Level 2, with 28 active and passive safety features. Previously, the most affordable car to offer ADAS was the Honda City, Amaze's elder sister, but now it has taken the torch. This is a camera-based ADAS system with Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System, Auto High Beam, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lead Car Departure Notification System.
The Maruti Dzire is not equipped with this system, nor is any other Maruti car, except the Invicto.
Lane Watch Camera
Straight up taken from bigger Honda cars, the Amaze is now equipped with a LaneWatch camera, available only for the left-side view. This safety feature is great, as sometimes objects in the blind spot aren't clearly visible and can lead to accidents. Now, this feature is available from the mid variant, VX, which is again good news for potential customers.
8 Inch Infotainment Screen
Now, this is an anomaly, because the 9-inch infotainment screen is available in the Maruti Dzire, but only in the top-spec ZXI+ variant. On the other hand, Honda offers the 8-inch touchscreen in all three variants. So, this makes the Amaze a more appealing product, as people who prioritize the infotainment screen over anything else can opt for the base variant, which starts at Rs 7.99 lakh.
Semi-Digital Driver's Display
Almost all the main features available in the Honda Elevate and City are now present in the Honda Amaze 3rd generation. The driver's display is now semi-digital, with the left side of the screen (7 inches) fully digital. It includes features like a multifunction driver's display, digital speedometer, range and economy information, G-meter, and more. The Maruti Dzire's driver's display is analog, with a small information screen in the middle of the dials.
Paddle Shifter's
The Honda Amaze with a CVT gearbox offers paddle shifters, which are not available in the Dzire, as it has an AGS (Auto Gear Shift). Additionally, this gearbox is available from the second VXi variant in the Dzire, whereas in the Amaze, the CVT is available from the first model.
Remote Start Engine
In the all-new Amaze, you can start the vehicle from outside using the key with a long press of the button. This feature is called Remote Engine Start. It is a first-in-segment feature, not available in any of its competitors like the Dzire, Aura, or Tigor.
Walk Away Auto Lock
Again, a first-in-segment feature, which allows customers to move away from the car without locking it, as the Honda Amaze automatically locks itself after a few seconds.
Features Maruti Dzire Offers Over Honda Amaze
Electric sunroof
The sunroof, the most loved feature in a car, has made its way to the all-new Dzire, and it will definitely attract a lot of customers. Although it is only reserved for the top-spec ZXI+, sunroofs have their own fanbase. As for the 3rd-generation Amaze, it doesn't feature a sunroof, nor has it been available in any previous generation.
9 Inch Infotainment Screen
The Maruti Dzire's infotainment screen is 1 inch bigger than the Honda Amaze's, which isn't a significant difference, but for some customers, bigger screens may be a priority. Additionally, there are a host of other features included in this screen, which I have pointed out below.
360-HD View Camera
The 360-HD view parking camera, another popular feature, has made its way to the Dzire, elevating its appeal. The all-new Amaze lacks this feature but does offer a rearview camera with three different angles and guidelines. The 360 camera is a great safety feature, as it provides a bird's-eye view of the vehicle and shows several blind spots that aren't clearly visible to the driver.
TPMS
The TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) is available in the Honda Amaze, but it is only accessible through the Honda Connect app. In the Dzire, TPMS is displayed on the central screen, which is much preferred, as owners typically won't navigate through the Honda app to check this information on a daily basis.
CNG option
If you want to save more money through fuel economy, the Maruti Dzire offers a factory-fitted CNG option, which achieves 33.73 km/kg of mileage in most conditions. The Amaze, however, does not offer a bi-fuel option.

Verdict
The Honda Amaze is now more fuel-efficient and equipped with industry-first features. But will these be strong enough reasons for customers to choose it over the country's favorite Dzire, which also offers several additional features, such as a sunroof, bigger screen, 360-degree parking camera, and a CNG option? The battle between them will be interesting to watch, as it will show how each vehicle impacts their sales.
